The ‘Summer of 69’ singer Bryan Adams is finally coming to Goa. The singer has been to India in the past and is soon going commence his highly anticipated ‘So Happy That It hurts’ India tour in Kolkata on December 8. The tour was first announced as a five-city tour in July this year. By late August, Hyderabad was added to the tour and now Goa was just announced as the next concert.

Fans of the hitmaker can’t hold their excitement when the news broke with everyone rushing to the online portal to book their tickets. Bryan Adams who is currently touring to promote his latest album ‘So Happy It Hurts’, is also excited about the India tour.

No concert in Goa is complete without the anthem of the youth, ‘Summer of 69’ and finally Goa will see the singer perform it live for an exhilarating audience. Those few lucky Goans who got to witness the energetic performance of the singer in other cities of India in the past few years are not going to miss this chance.

A Canadian singer-songwriter, musician, record producer, and photographer, Bryam Adams released his eponymous debut album at the age of 20 and now at the age of 64, he has released 14 albums and sold more than a 100 million records and singles worldwide. His 1984 Canadian and US number one album, “Reckless’ became the first album by a Canadian to be certified diamond in Canada and made him a global star.

Hansel Vaz is one of the biggest Bryan Adams fans in Goa, and has attended his live concert in Bombay when Bryan Adams first came to India more than two decades back. “I attended a Bryan Adams concert when I was a college student in Bombay and I was informed about his music when I was still younger by my uncle who had attended his concert in Canada. I will surely attend his concert in Goa without a doubt. I have been to many music concerts by other performers including Enrique Iglesias and Bryan Adams sings all his songs and that too continuously, without a break. There is no backup track. He is an artiste unlike just a performer so true music fans will surely be excited to see him perform live,” says Hansel as he expresses his excitement.

Speaking about Bryan Adams on the stage, Hansel is hoping to get a ticket close to the stage. “He is a professional yet when the fans ask for the song again, he will sing again. He is a brilliant and thorough singer and his concerts are so interactive with the fans that he also pulls them up on the stage to sing the songs along with him. It is very impromptu and even at his age of 64, he still has the energy to sing that too a flawless performance.

Melcon Teixeira, founder and violinist and guitarist of the Goan band, The Big Country Band, says, “Bryan Adam’s music has a way of turning simple words and melodies into emotions that feel timeless. ‘Everything I Do I Do It for You’ isn’t just a song, it’s an anthem of love that my band, The Big Country Band plays at almost every wedding we perform at. Without this song, a wedding doesn’t quite feel complete. It brings a depth of emotion that perfectly captures the devotion between two people. At 64, Bryan still brings that raw passion and authenticity to his performances, making each one memorable and heartfelt. His visit to Goa will be a gift for every fan who’s shared in those moments shaped by his music.”

Nixon Soares, the lead guitarist of the rock band, BadBlood, one of Goa’s foremost rock bands, has closely followed Bryan Adams’ musical career with covers of his songs performed by their band too.

Nixon says, “I will be definitely attending the concert as Bryan Adams is not just any artiste, he is a rock artist and it is even more special as he is coming down to Goa. One of my personal favourite Bryan Adams song is ‘Have you ever loved a woman?’ and besides other hits. I watched him perform live at Bangalore about 15 years back. He sounds better while performing live as the songs are very catchy and he improvises them all. Bryan Adams is a rocker and rockers never age.”

Renowned radio jockey Joed Almeida has grown up listening and later playing Bryan Adams’ tracks on the radio. “No best show would begin or end without ‘Summer of 69’. It was ‘Summer of 69’ but 80s and 90s kids have grown up with a big influence and his songs always resonate with the people. All his songs are iconic and I’m not going to miss his performance in Goa,” says Joed.

Music lovers are looking forward to December 17 and even if it is winter in Goa, one will surely feel the heat of ‘Summer of 69’.
