For more than six decades now, the Grammy Awards have presented iconic musical moments. Remember when Miley Cyrus won her first Grammy last year for ‘Flowers’ and promptly changed her lyrics to scream out, ‘I didn’t wanna leave you (but had to), I didn’t wanna fight (but we did), started to cry but then remembered – I just won my first Grammy!’ in a hilarious performance in a shimmering dress inspired by Tina Turner. Well, there’s lots more exciting performances this year that will make Indians wake up early for a musical morning.
The 2025 Grammys, officially known as the 67th Grammy Awards, will telecast live on Indian television on Monday morning, as it will be taking place at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, hosted by Trevor Noah, South African comedian, writer, actor, and television host.
Besides the awards, quick conversations between presenters, the most anticipated part of the programme are the live performances. A series of special performances will highlight the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, including a star-studded salute to the life and legacy of Quincy Jones, musical tributes honouring the city of Los Angeles, and the annual In Memoriam segment.
The first line-up announced by Grammy included performers including Benson Boone, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Charli xcx, Doechii, RAYE, Sabrina Carpenter, Shakira, and Teddy Swims. Recently, more names were added to the list including Brad Paisley, Brittany Howard, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Cynthia Erivo, Herbie Hancock, Jacob Collier, Janelle Monáe, John Legend, Lainey Wilson, Sheryl Crow, St Vincent, and Stevie Wonder.
Two megastars who will be attending but have not yet featured on the performing line up are Beyonce and Taylor Swift. Both the female superpowers have done amazingly well this year and Beyoncé leads all nominees for the 67th annual Grammy Awards, with 11 nods while Taylor Swift tails with six nominations. The two are competing for album, record and song of the year.
After backflipping on stage at the VMAs, time will tell what more Benson Boone and the other artistes have for their fans at the grandest stage of music, The Grammys.
