We’re sorry we’re late, but we made it, and that's what is important!” As Adam Levine spoke these words and the crowd cheered and clapped, it was clear that American pop band Maroon 5’s first ever concert in India would be a night to remember. And two days after the December 3 show at Mumbai’s iconic Mahalaxmi Race Course, Goan fans who made it to the show can’t stop talking about it.
One of them was Alroy Fernandes, an emcee by profession and a Maroon 5 fan when he plugs his earphones in. “Watching Maroon 5 in a live concert was one of the best experiences I’ve had! Being in the fan area, right from the start to the end was an exhilarating journey,” shared Alroy, who later posted several videos and photos on Instagram.
For fangirl Manisha Gaonkar Parulekar, attending Maroon 5’s concert was a dream come true. “This was my first-ever live event. From the moment ‘Sugar’ started, the energy was electrifying. Singing along to hits like ‘Girls Like You’ and ‘Moves Like Jagger’ was pure joy. What stood out most was the connection between Adam Levine and the crowd; his stage presence was magnetic. The effort of traveling from Goa, the wait for the show to begin, and the sheer thrill of being part of such a grand event were all worth it,” Manisha told us.
Rucha Prabhudesai, who made an impulsive decision to attend and didn’t regret it one bit, has just got back to Goa and is still in a daze of happiness. “Since we managed to get VIP passes, the experience was relatively comfortable. The washrooms were clean and accessible. However, to my knowledge, the same can't be said for those with GA passes,” she said.
Dancing by Rucha’s side was her best friend Palash Volvoikar, who pointed to a few hiccups that couldn’t be ignored. “Maroon 5 did a bang-up job – the music was great, the band was amazing at getting the audience going, and the performances were fantastic. Venue management could have been better though. There wasn't enough security to handle stuff like a bunch of people smoking in the most dense part of the crowd. Definitely could've been a much better experience if the rules were followed.
Suman’s Maroon 5 Moment
Memories can last a lifetime, and for Suman – a Maroon 5 fangirl who attended the concert in Mumbai – nothing could be more true.
She was one among the thousands who had gathered at Mahalaxmi Race Course for the concert, but she was carrying a bouquet of white roses that she wished to present to the band. And in the course of the evening, all her wishes came true when Adam Levine invited her on stage, accepted her flowers, sang to her and gave her the tightest hug. It was an unforgettable moment from an unforgettable concert!
