Cansaulim makes parking changes after CH report

Imust thank you for publishing my letter regarding Cansaulim market road on your daily on April 3, 2017. Consequent to this letter there is marked improvement in the traffic movement on the Cansaulim market road. First and foremost the congestion at the bridge on the south near the post office is reduced considerably, owing to some changes in the seating arrangement in the fish market. Consequently the parking of scooters has become more orderly. So also the hawker menace in front of the T.B.Cunha Stadium has disappeared, thereby leaving enough space for car parking. I hope the situation continues to be the same hereafter.

However, it is imperative to fix up signboards at appropriate locations for "Parking" and "No Parking", which will ensure total order and facilitate better flow of traffic. But the everlasting solution to all these problems can be the construction of a new market complex with ample parking space, which was planned by late Mr Matanhy Saldanha, and the same figured in his then Election Manifesto. So much so land for this project was earmarked and even land filling was done. But after his sad and untimely demised this project went into cold storage.

I hope the present MLA will give a push for this project and fulfill Mr. Matanhy's dream project and public requirement.
