Consuming alcohol at public places

Consuming alcohol at public places
Published on
Although consumption of alcoholic drinks at public places has been banned by law, we still come across such instances at different locations.
Such practices go unnoticed on most occasions, perhaps due to lack of regular patrolling by officials of the concerned competent authority.
Seen in the picture are beer bottles lying near the gate adjacent to Road Transport Office (RTO) at KTC bus terminus in Ponda. (Photograph taken on Sunday, May 27 at 6:00 pm).
It is time for the concerned authorities to exercise strict vigil at strategic spots like bus-stands, municipal markets and gardens, beaches, etc.
Persons found drinking at public places must be levied heavy cash fines to be paid on the spot.
