Anjuna and Arpora villagers are facing inconvenience due to lack of bus service from Anjuna to Mapusa via Arpora, since three months. The people are demanding at least Kadamba transport service on the route as soon as possible.
Approximately, 3km stretch of road from Anjuna to Arpora lacking bus service to go Mapusa town. And therefore, the public have to walk at least one and half kilometre distance to board a bus of Chapora and Calangute routes.
Earlier, three private buses were plying on this route which was convenient to the public. But suddenly, three months ago, all the three buses have disappeared from the route causing lot of inconvenience to general public of this vicinity. Especially, locals from Sim Anjuna, Simvaddo and Mainat Bhat and Kudachvaddo and Sankwadi-Arpora are facing transport problem. The villagers therefore demand a KTC bus service on this route in case private buses are desisted for any reason.
Bus service is very important for economically weaker section of the society. Some years ago, two bus services were stopped, one was from Arpora to Mapusa via Parra-Aradi and the other was from Baga-Sankwadi to Mapusa via Arpora Tinto.
