Why is Dr Inacio’s assaulter roaming freely?

Activist/crusader Dr Ignacio Fernandes was seen openly assaulted and abused in a live recorded video at the Anjuna gram sabha meeting in the presence of the men-in-uniform & panchayat members by one politically-connected goon from the same area for advocating a resolution against mega events in Anjuna village.

Of course, the said goon was later heard giving his own justifications to save himself and claiming that the reason why he had gone to assault Dr Ignacio is because he says that before the start of the meeting, the doctor had physically attacked him and which I feel is a big lie. Otherwise, why is there no single recorded video available with any of the local news channels in the State of the same?

Well, if the said goon had any issue to raise then he should have debated during the gram sabha meeting but should not have marched from outside and started slapping Dr Inacio at the behest of his own political masters from Anjuna.

The most shocking part is that the government has still not bothered to instruct the Goa Police cops to arrest the assaulter. Why? Does the government want this trend of assaulting people raising their voice against all types of filthy activities in villages, to continue?

Dr Inacio Fernandes inspiration for the youth

A young dynamic crusader Dr Inacio Fernandes from Anjuna village has really set an example for the youth. The story which was published on O Heraldo, dated November 25, stated how a dynamic young doctor fighting on behalf of people of Anjuna against noise pollution, was assaulted by a politically connected goon. Frankly speaking, at present Goa and our Goan brothers and sisters and our beautiful villages need this type of dynamic crusaders. God bless Dr Inacio Fernandes for setting an example for our Goan youth. He is truly a dynamic crusader of Anjuna.

How can we fight this war against polluted air?

For the last few years, almost every November, Delhi and its surrounding areas have become a gas chamber. With the Air Quality Index (AQI) crossing the 400 mark, it becomes difficult to even breathe.

According to the University of Chicago’s Air Quality Life Index Report 2023, prolonged exposure to severe air pollution could reduce the life expectancy of Delhi residents by an alarming 11.9 years. In the meantime, our elected leaders are busy in a blame game rather than finding a sustainable solution.

The Supreme Court seems to think that if stubble-burning is halted, the air quality in Delhi would improve dramatically. It has asked the neighbouring states to take appropriate action to prevent it. True, there are safer ways of disposing of stubble, but they are costly.

The farmers do not have the financial capacity to pluck out the stubble and bury it in the fields where it will become part of the soil.

Homecoming for Ashwin

The good news for Chennai fans is that the selection of Spin King back into the fold of Chennai Super Kings becomes more meaningful by finding a player from 'Chennai' among super kings from other States and nations. It's the home sweet home for Ravichandran Ashwin now, who has been acquired by CSK for Rs.9.75 crore at the IPL 2025 auction in Jeddah. In the bidding for Ashwin CSK had to beat Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Lucknow Super Giants to grab Ashwin. While Ashwin started his IPL career as a teenager groomed by M S Dhoni, returning to the franchise will be exciting to watch.
