Govt jobs for today’s gen

Published on
This is regarding ‘So many government jobs were not promised during polls: CM’ (Herald, 10 February).
Gone are the days where most of the students were studying till SSC, where employment were hardly offered in Government offices during those days.
Let me speak about today's generation. Today the youth are well educated, job offers are behind the bush. I am registered in Goa Employment office in Margao since 1980 still waiting for a call. It is quite sad and annoying for not receiving a call letter till date. I have run from pillar to post till date nothing was in my favour. Forget about me. Now my children are grown up and well qualified, registered in the Goa Employment Exchange for the last four to five years and the employment card is renewed still waiting for a call.
It is mentioned that people from other states take up the jobs for Rs 10,000. People of Goa don’t want to work hard. Who will work for this amount?
When one is registered from the Goa Employment  Exchange, why the job offer letter is not dispatched from Employment Exchange office.
When jobs are there parents have to sell their possessions, which was saved from their hard earn money to pay for the one offering the jobs.
Can anyone come out clean and say that Government jobs should come from the Employment registered office.
Jobs which are offered, where are they published and on which Daily newspaper? One does not read all the newspapers published in Goa.
40 positions are on offer on contract basis? And 5000 students stood in a queue in the hot sun .Ministers and MLAs get paid in lakhs, they should choose the Rs 10,000 pay and show the people how to run the family and at the end of the month what they save. Today's generation make Portuguese passport and move away from Goa the reason is they are sick and tired of the way the Goa Government runs the Employment Office.
What will the people who cannot make a Portuguese passport do?
I will wait and watch when the call letter will come for my children to take up the job, to be employed by the Goa Government.
