Argentina has announced a visa exemption for Indian citizens who already hold a valid US tourist visa, a move designed to attract more visitors and encourage cultural exchange. Under the new policy, Indian travelers no longer need to apply for an Argentine visa or Electronic Travel Authorization (AVE).
The initiative reflects Argentina’s broader efforts to revive its tourism industry while reciprocating India’s existing travel-friendly policies for Argentine nationals. Officials noted that over 2.2 million Indians traveled to the US in 2024, making this an opportunity to tap into a growing segment of outbound travelers.
Tourism and government leaders believe the policy will significantly increase Indian arrivals, benefiting both Argentina’s economy and bilateral relations. Airlines and travel agencies have already begun promoting Argentina as a more accessible destination for Indian tourists.
