At least seven residents from Kashmir are feared dead after a massive landslide struck Kullu district in Himachal Pradesh, officials confirmed on Thursday.

Authorities reported that all victims were labourers from Tulail, Bandipora, working in Himachal at the time of the incident. The landslide also caused the collapse of two houses, leaving around 12–13 people trapped.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) said in an X post that a team conducting collapsed structure search and rescue (CSSR) operations managed to rescue three injured individuals and recover one body. Search efforts are ongoing to locate the remaining trapped victims.

The Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister’s office expressed grief over the loss of lives in Kullu and assured that all possible assistance is being provided to the affected families.
