Two hardcore Maoists were killed in an encounter with security forces in the forested area of Kilam-Bargum, near the Kondagaon-Narayanpur border in Chhattisgarh. The operation involved a joint team of the Kondagaon District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the Bastar Fighters. The killed Maoists were identified as Haldar, a Divisional Committee Member (DVCM), and Rame, an Area Committee Member (ACM).

Interestingly, reports state that both Maoists, Haldar and Rame, were carrying a combined bounty of INR 13 lakh on their heads. Haldar had a bounty of INR 8 lakh, while Rame had a reward of INR 5 lakh.

Security forces recovered an AK-47 rifle, additional arms, explosives, and other Maoist materials from the encounter site. This operation is seen as a massive blow to Maoist operations in the region, as both individuals were linked to violent incidents in East Bastar.
