Delhi Eatery Clarifies Dress Code With ‘All Indian Attire Allowed’ Notice After Outcry

A Delhi restaurant, facing intense criticism over allegations of denying entry to customers wearing Indian attire, has put up new signage to clarify its stance.

In a viral video from Pitampura, staff members are seen placing two notices outside the establishment. One explicitly states, “All types of Indian attire are allowed in the restaurant (saree, suit, etc.).”

The second notice outlines other house rules, including restrictions on outside food and liquor, and affirms management’s rights—seemingly aimed at protecting the restaurant’s image after the controversy.

The move sparked a wave of reactions online. Many users said the owners had “finally learned their lesson,” while others remarked that the step was necessary to avoid a shutdown.

“Better to paste the notice than be shut down,” one user quipped. Another wrote, “The owner finally understood.”

A third comment praised the couple at the heart of the incident: “The restaurant owner has realised the power of social media. Kudos to the couple for standing their ground.”
