Director Sanoj Mishra, Maha Kumbh sensation Monalisa’s Film Director Arrested on Charges of Rape

Filmmaker Sanoj Mishra who made the headlines for offering a film to Maha Kumbh’s viral girl Monalisa, has been arrested for a rape case in Delhi on Monday. An aspiring actress has accused him of sexual assault under the pretext of giving her roles, and marrying her.

The victim informed the police that she met Mishra in 2020 through TikTok and Instagram, during when she lived in Jhansi. The two had spoken on several occasions, and on June 17, 2021, Mishra called her to tell her that he was at the Jhansi railway station. However, the victim refused to meet him, due to which Mishra threatened to take his own life if she didn’t come.

In response to his threats, the victim agreed to meet him the next day, and on June 18, Mishra was accused of taking her to a resort and sexually assaulting after drugging her. As per the victim’s statement, recorded obscene videos of her, forced her into a live-in relationship with him in Mumbai. During which, he reportedly assaulted her on several occassions and made her undergo three abortions.

In February 2025, the film director reportedly left her and threatened to leak private pictures and videos to the public if she spoke up against him.

An FIR has been lodged under Section 164 CrPC for under Section 164 CrPC against the film director. Further medical records from Muzaffarnagar confirmed the forced abortions.
