Lenskart co-founder and promoter Sumeet Kapahi has been unable to locate his B.Com (Hons) degree and marksheets from the University of Delhi, the eyewear company disclosed in its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) submitted to SEBI on Monday, July 28.
The issue was flagged under the “Internal Risk Factors” section of the DRHP, which outlines potential risks as Lenskart prepares for its public offering.
Kapahi, who serves as Lenskart’s Global Head of Sourcing, reportedly made several efforts to retrieve the documents. The company said he wrote multiple emails and a letter to the university and also applied through the university’s online portal, but has yet to receive a response.
"One of our Promoters, Sumeet Kapahi, who is also the Global Head of Sourcing of our Company, has been unable to trace the copies of his B.Com (Hons.) degree and marksheets from the University of Delhi," the DRHP noted.
The company further stated: "Accordingly, reliance has been placed on certificates furnished by him to us and the BRLMs (Book Running Lead Managers) to disclose details of his educational qualifications in this Draft Red Herring Prospectus. Further, there can be no assurance that he will be able to trace the relevant documents pertaining to his educational qualifications in the future or at all.”
