In a sensational allegation, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has claimed that former U.S. President Donald Trump is deliberately blocking the full release of the Jeffrey Epstein files to conceal his own involvement.
“Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!” Musk posted Thursday on X, formerly known as Twitter. He added, “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.”
The remark comes amid escalating tensions between Musk and Trump following the latter’s criticism of the “Big Beautiful Bill,” a legislative move Musk had supported. As of now, neither Trump nor the White House has issued a response to Musk's claim.
Earlier this year, a portion of Epstein’s files—including flight logs and an evidence index—was declassified. While they revealed the names of several high-profile figures, they did not include Trump. However, speculation surrounding Trump’s alleged ties to Epstein has persisted for years.
Under an executive order signed by Trump on January 20, 2025, the first phase of document releases included flight manifests naming Trump as a passenger on Epstein’s private jet seven times during the 1990s. Still, no direct evidence implicates him in any criminal activity related to Epstein.
Trump and Epstein were known to be social acquaintances in the late 1980s and 1990s. They were photographed together at social events, including a 1997 party at Mar-a-Lago. Trump once described Epstein as a “terrific guy” in a 2002 interview but later claimed to have severed ties over a real estate dispute.
Jeffrey Epstein, a financier and convicted sex offender accused of running a trafficking ring for minors, died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial. His associations with powerful global figures—including Trump, Bill Clinton, and Prince Andrew—continue to generate public scrutiny.
As of now, Musk’s claim remains unverified.
