
An explosion occurred outside the residence of Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Manoranjan Kalia in the early hours of Tuesday, causing significant concern. Kalia, who was reportedly asleep at the time, initially mistook the blast for thunder but later learned that it was an explosion outside his home. Fortunately, the BJP leader is reported to be safe.
Following the blast, police teams were quickly dispatched to Kalia’s residence, and forensic experts arrived at the scene to gather evidence. An investigation has been launched to determine the source and perpetrator of the blast.
Speaking about the incident, Kalia explained, “There was a blast at around 1 am... I was sleeping, and I thought that it was the sound of thunder... Later I was informed that a blast had taken place... After this, I sent my gunman to the police station... CCTV is being investigated; forensic experts are also present here.”
Jalandhar’s Deputy Commissioner of Police, Manpreet Singh, confirmed that forensic teams are analyzing the evidence collected from the site and will submit a report shortly.
Dhanpreet Kaur, the Commissioner of Police, also visited the scene and provided further details, saying, “Around 1 am, we got information about the blast. After which we reached the spot and started the investigation. The forensic team is investigating the matter... We are also monitoring the CCTV footage. The forensic team is determining whether it was a grenade attack or something else.”
As the investigation continues, authorities are working to piece together the details of the incident. More information is awaited.
