
Hyderabad witnessed a tragic incident on Sunday night when a Rath taken out during Sri Krishnashtami celebrations came in contact with a live electric wire, leaving at least five people dead and four others injured.
The mishap took place at Gokulnagar in Ramanthapur, where devotees were participating in the procession. According to eyewitnesses, the Rath was being carried manually by nine people after the vehicle transporting it broke down. As the structure touched an overhead power line, the group received a powerful electric shock, throwing them to the ground.
Panic gripped the crowd as participants scattered in fear following the electrocution. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities are investigating the incident, while the community mourns the loss of lives during what was meant to be a festive occasion.
