"I kill you": Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir receives threat mail from 'ISIS'

India's men's cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir received a threatening email on 22 April 2025, the same day as the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The email contained three chilling words: "I KILL YOU", and was sent from a sender claiming to be "ISIS Kashmir." Following this, Gambhir approached the Delhi Police and filed a formal complaint seeking protection for himself and his family. The police have registered the matter and are investigating the origin of the emails through their cyber cell.

Gambhir was among the Indian sporting figures who spoke out against the Pahalgam terror attacks. He shared on X, "Praying for the families of the victims. Those responsible will face justice. India will strike."

Not for the first time!

If we consider this, it is not the first time Gambhir has received such life-threatening messages. The former BJP MP had previously received similar threats in 2021 and is already under police protection. He had also publicly condemned the Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 civilians, on his social media.

Right now, he's enjoying his break, as the IPL gave him some free time. Once the IPL ends, India is set to travel to England for a five-match Test series. Gambhir had recently visited France with his family for a holiday but returned to the country earlier this month.
