Ind vs Pak: Ceasefire shatters within hours as Pakistan violates truce, drones shot down across cities

The fragile ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, reached on May 10, 2025, collapsed within hours of its announcement. Despite international mediation and public assurances from both sides, including statements from US President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Pakistan violated the truce by launching artillery shelling across the Line of Control in Jammu’s Palanwalla sector, Akhnoor, Rajouri, and RS Pura. Multiple drone incursions were reported in Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan, with Indian forces intercepting several drones over Baramulla and Pokhran. Explosions in Srinagar led to a red alert and blackout in the region, while air raids were also reported in Barmer and nearby border districts.

In response, Indian security forces, including the BSF and Air Force, were directed to act with full force. Air strikes earlier in the day had already targeted eight Pakistani military sites in retaliation for attacks on Indian bases and civilian areas. At a joint press briefing, Air Commodore Raghu Nair reiterated India's commitment to peace but warned that the country will defend itself strongly if provoked. Meanwhile, India has decided to continue the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty and maintain the visa ban on Pakistani nationals, showing the rising tension and growing mistrust between the two countries.
