Indian Air Force Pilot Dies, Another Injured in Jaguar Fighter Jet Crash in Gujarat

Tragedy struck on Wednesday evening when a Jaguar two-seater fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed during a night mission in Jamnagar, Gujarat. One pilot lost his life, while the other sustained severe injuries.

According to Superintendent of Police Premsukh Delu, the crash occurred shortly after the pilots experienced a technical malfunction. While one pilot ejected safely, the other went missing. The aircraft crashed in an open field at Suvarda village, located approximately 12 km from Jamnagar, and was immediately engulfed in flames.

The rescued pilot was quickly rushed to the hospital for urgent medical treatment. In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), the IAF confirmed that the technical malfunction led to the ejection of the pilots to avoid damage to the airfield and the local population. Sadly, despite efforts, one of the pilots succumbed to his injuries.

The IAF expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss, offering condolences to the bereaved family and standing by the injured pilot, who is receiving treatment in Jamnagar. The incident has raised concerns regarding the safety of military aircraft, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash.
