IPL founder Lalit Modi’s brother Samir Modi arrested in Delhi on rape charges

Samir Modi, brother of former IPL chief Lalit Modi, was arrested by Delhi Police on rape charges at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on Thursday evening.

Police said a woman filed a complaint five days earlier, alleging rape and criminal intimidation. Based on her statement, a case was registered and Modi was taken into custody.

Samir Modi is the founder and managing director of Modicare, a direct selling company. He has previously been in the news over a family inheritance dispute involving ₹11,000 crore after the death of his father, KK Modi, in 2019. In 2024, he accused his mother Bina Modi of failing to honor the trust deed and sought police protection during the feud.
