Israel-Iran Conflict Escalates: Missile Strikes Continue as Death Toll Rises on Both Sides

The ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel intensified further on Tuesday as both nations exchanged missile and drone attacks for a fifth consecutive day. The Israeli army reported detecting a new wave of missile launches from Iran, even as both sides issued fresh threats of launching their “largest attacks” yet.

The violence has taken a severe toll on human life. In Iran, at least 224 people have been killed and more than 1,200 injured since the hostilities began. In Israel, the death toll has reached 24, with at least 592 wounded as a result of Iran’s retaliatory strikes.

Amid the rising tensions, the White House confirmed that U.S. forces stationed across the Middle East remain in a "defensive" posture, signaling growing concerns about a potential regional spillover.

In a high-profile escalation, the Israeli Air Force bombed the Tehran headquarters of IRIB, Iran’s state broadcaster. The strike occurred during a live broadcast, with footage quickly circulating across international media. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz claimed responsibility, saying the attack targeted what he called Iran’s propaganda apparatus.

“The Iranian propaganda and incitement mouthpiece is on its way to disappear,” Katz declared, warning that Israel will continue to strike "everywhere" to dismantle what he described as the "Iranian director’s" war machine.

Katz also issued a direct warning to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, further inflaming tensions between the two long-standing adversaries.

As the conflict shows no sign of abating, the international community is on high alert, with urgent calls for de-escalation to avoid a broader regional conflict.
