Israel Resumes Ground Operations in Gaza, Issues Final Warning on Hostages and Hamas

Calling for the release of captives and the overthrow of Hamas, Israel has launched new ground operations in Gaza. Significant casualties and displacement are caused by airstrikes that persist in spite of international appeals for a truce. Hamas firmly maintains its current ceasefire terms while remaining amenable to talks. Israel issued what it described as a "final warning" to Palestinians living in Gaza to return hostages and overthrow Hamas, and it has begun new ground operations in the region.

The worst round of Israeli airstrikes since the brief ceasefire broke in January has been followed by this latest attack.
"To widen the security zone and create a partial buffer between northern and southern Gaza, Israeli forces have launched targeted ground activity in central and southern Gaza during the past day," the military said.
Israel persisted in its bombardment in spite of mounting international pleas to reinstate the ceasefire, leading to new waves of displacement. Families with little children were among the long lines of residents fleeing northern Gaza toward the south in search of safety.

Yoav Gallant, the Israeli military minister, also sent a clear warning to the people of Gaza. "Listen to what the US president has to say." If you return the prisoners and get rid of Hamas, you'll have more alternatives, including the chance to travel to other countries if you so choose," he stated.
"To the People of Gaza: A great future awaits aits, but not if you keep Hostages," US President Donald Trump threatened earlier this month, citing his words. You are dead if you do.
