On Friday, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah visited the Government Hospital in Jammu to meet civilians injured in the recent heavy shelling by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC). During his visit, Abdullah checked on the condition of the wounded and reassured them of full support from the state administration. He expressed his prayers for their swift recovery and highlighted that the government is closely monitoring the situation, particularly in light of the recent drone attacks and ongoing cross-border tensions. The Chief Minister's visit comes amid rising border tensions, with repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistani forces leading to significant casualties and property damage in districts like Poonch, Rajouri, Baramulla, and Jammu.

The humanitarian crisis in Jammu and Kashmir is escalating against the backdrop of rapidly worsening security conditions between India and Pakistan. The latest surge in hostilities was triggered by India’s Operation Sindoor, which involved precision strikes on terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, following a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam in April. In retaliation, Pakistan launched intense shelling and drone attacks, killing at least 13 civilians and injuring nearly 60 more in Indian border areas.
