A shocking case of campus violence has emerged from Amity University, Lucknow, where a second-year law student was allegedly slapped over 50 times by his classmates inside a car on campus. The incident, which took place on August 26, 2025, sparked outrage after a video of the assault went viral.
The victim, Shikhar Mukesh Kesarwani, was recovering from ligament surgery and using a walking stick when he was attacked. The FIR filed by his father names five accused classmates: Ayush Yadav, Jahnvi Mishra, Milay Banerjee, Vivek Singh, and Aryaman Shukla.
In the video, a female student, identified as Jahnvi Mishra, can be seen slapping Shikhar repeatedly while others hurl abuses and issue threats. Ayush Yadav is also seen physically assaulting the victim.
The attack reportedly lasted for about 90 seconds, after Shikhar was lured into the vehicle in the university’s parking lot. His phone and SIM card were later destroyed. His father alleged that he was threatened when he tried to intervene.
Police at Chinhat station have registered an FIR and confirmed that the accused students have been identified. “Strict action will be taken after the investigation,” said Station House Officer Dinesh Chandra Mishra.
Amity University has not yet released an official statement but said disciplinary action will follow once the complaint is fully reviewed.
