Meghalaya Honeymoon Murder: Cousin’s Role Under Scanner in Shocking Twist
Published on

The ongoing investigation into the chilling Meghalaya honeymoon murder case has taken a new turn with the emergence of another name—Jitendra Raghuvanshi—adding a fresh layer of intrigue to the already complex probe.

Jitendra, identified as a maternal cousin of the prime accused Sonam Raghuvanshi, has come under the police radar after it was revealed that payments to the alleged contract killers were made through his account. According to Sonam's brother Govind, Jitendra was also a junior employee in their family business.

The Meghalaya Police, which has already arrested five people in connection with Raja Raghuvanshi’s murder—including his wife Sonam, her suspected lover Raj Kushwaha, and accomplices Vishal Chauhan, Akash Rajput, and Anand Kurmi—has now begun examining the financial trails linked to Jitendra.

Sources revealed that the first transaction to the alleged assassins was carried out on May 23 using a UPI account reportedly registered in Jitendra's name. While Govind confirmed this detail, he remained tight-lipped about why Sonam didn’t use her own name for the account, raising more questions about possible financial misdirection.

The revelations have cast a spotlight on the Raghuvanshi family’s business dealings, with investigators reportedly probing potential hawala connections after suspicions arose that the payments could have been routed through illegal channels.

All five arrested suspects have been taken to Meghalaya, where a local court remanded them to an eight-day police custody on Wednesday. The case continues to unfold as authorities pursue every lead in what’s becoming one of the most sensational murder mysteries of the year.
