In a twist to a road accident probe, police have traced a missing truck driver involved in a collision with a car at Airoli signal in Navi Mumbai to the Pune residence of disgraced former IAS officer Puja Khedkar.

The incident unfolded after a mixer truck collided with a car, following which the truck driver went missing, raising suspicions. Investigators later tracked him down to Ms. Khedkar’s Pune home, a discovery that has brought fresh trouble for the former civil servant.

Ms. Khedkar, once selected for the prestigious Indian Administrative Service, was dismissed by the Centre in September 2024 after the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) found her guilty of misusing the OBC and disability quota. The UPSC not only cancelled her selection but also barred her for life from taking the civil services exam, citing multiple instances of identity manipulation.

Police are now probing the circumstances under which the truck driver was found at her residence.
