Mumbai High-Rise Fire in Dahisar Leaves One Dead, 19 Hospitalised

A massive fire broke out in a 23-storey residential building in Dahisar on Sunday, claiming the life of one person and leaving another in critical condition.

According to officials, 36 residents were rescued from the blaze. Nineteen of them were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment, while others received medical attention at the site.

Firefighters managed to douse the flames after a strenuous operation, though the cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Authorities said an investigation is underway.

The incident has once again raised concerns over fire safety preparedness in Mumbai’s high-rise buildings.
