Najam Sethi slams Islamabad’s denial of Indian missile strikes in May conflict

In a rare candid admission, Pakistan political analyst Najam Sethi has revealed that Indian forces successfully carried out missile strikes on Pakistani air bases and militant hubs during Operation Sindoor in May, contradicting Islamabad’s denial of losses.

Speaking to Samaa TV, Sethi said India’s May 9–10 offensive exposed Pakistan’s vulnerability. “With missile technology and accuracy, they were able to target both your bases and offices of so-called freedom fighters,” he explained, adding that Indian strikes on aircraft hangars could have inflicted devastating damage.

He lamented that Pakistan lacked an advanced defence shield such as India’s S-400 or Israel’s Iron Dome to protect against incoming attacks. His remarks undermined recent claims by Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Army Chief Gen. Asim Munir, who insisted Indian missiles caused no damage and that New Delhi sought a ceasefire mediated by Donald Trump. India, however, has firmly rejected those claims, stressing the ceasefire was a result of DGMO-level talks without outside intervention.
