Nipun Aggarwal will replace Campbell Wilson as the chairman of Air India Express. Wilson, who has been chairman since June 2022, will step down to enable better synergy between the airline's network and commercial efforts across the Air India Group. Aggarwal, already on the Air India Express board and serving as Air India's Chief Commercial Officer, will continue his existing duties while assuming the chairmanship.
Campbell Wilson will also exit the Air India Express board, and Air India's Chief Operations Officer, Basil Kwauk, will replace him on the board, pending regulatory approvals. Wilson emphasised that with these structural changes largely complete, the focus now is on fully leveraging the group's fleet, network, sales, distribution, and loyalty assets.
Speaking about Nipun Aggarwal, he was also one of the key members who successfully led Tata Sons’ acquisition of Air India, orchestrating major aircraft procurement deals, driving commercial and operational transformation, and integrating multiple airlines under the Air India Group to build a financially efficient and globally competitive airline network.
