President Droupadi Murmu recently honoured individuals for their big service across various fields with the prestigious Padma Awards at a grand ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The event marked a historic moment, celebrating distinguished personalities from cinema, music, and other arts for their outstanding contributions.

The Padma Awards not only symbolise the hard work and dedication of these individuals but also highlight their exceptional contributions to the nation. This year, several renowned figures from the world of cinema and music were honoured, including celebrated actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar, and the soulful singer Arijit Singh.
The ceremony, held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, saw the conferring of the nation’s highest civilian honours , the Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Vibhushan, to the awardees.

Even former Suzuki Motor chief, the late Osamu Suzuki, and renowned singer, the late Pankaj Udhas, were among the 71 distinguished personalities honored with Padma awards by President Droupadi Murmu on Monday, April 28, 2025.

Padma Bhushan (19)

A. Surya Prakash, Anant Nag, Bibek Debroy (Posthumous), Jatin Goswami, Jose Chacko Periyappuram, Kailash Nath Dikshit, Manohar Joshi (Posthumous), Nalli Kuppuswami Chetti, Nandamuri Balakrishna, P.R. Sreejesh, Pankaj Patel, Pankaj Udhas (Posthumous), Rambhadur Rai, Sadhvi Rithambara, S. Ajith Kumar, Shekhar Kapur, Shobana Chandrakumar, Sushil Kumar Modi (Posthumous), Vinod Dham

Along with that, in 2025, a total of 113 individuals were conferred the Padma Shri award, which is the fourth-highest civilian honour in India.
