It's really interesting that, after witnessing significant destruction and the failure of Chinese-supplied weapons during Operation Sindoor—launched by India in response to the Pahalgam terror attack—Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has hurriedly planned a visit to China. There, he is expected to meet with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

During the visit, Dar is likely to brief China on the implications of Operation Sindoor and the shortcomings of the Chinese military equipment used by Pakistan. The two nations are also expected to discuss and potentially formulate a new joint strategy against India. Dar may also meet with Afghanistan’s Acting Foreign Minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi, who is set to arrive in China on Tuesday, May 20.

According to Geo News, the three foreign ministers will participate in a trilateral meeting.

China Welcomes India-Pakistan Ceasefire

The selection of Beijing as the venue for these talks is considered diplomatically significant. China had previously welcomed the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, describing it as a step that serves the long-term interests of both countries and contributes to regional peace and stability.

Trilateral Talks Signal Diplomatic Reset in South Asia

The high-level trilateral meeting, hosted by China, is being seen as a significant step toward restoring dialogue and maintaining peace in the region. The discussions are expected to cover regional trade, enhancing security cooperation, and managing the changing geopolitical landscape in South Asia following the recent India-Pakistan confrontation.

Geo News reported that the three foreign ministers are likely to discuss ways to boost regional trade, strengthen security collaboration, and respond to the evolving regional situation, particularly in light of the recent India-Pakistan conflict.
