
Amitesh Kumar, Commissioner of Pune City Police, indicated that ligature marks were observed on the suspect, and initial questioning implies that he may have tried to take his own life. However, Kumar noted that Gade's assertion will require further verification. He also mentioned that a specialized team has been established to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter. "We are working to build a robust case against the accused. A special public prosecutor will be appointed," he stated, adding that the case will be presented in a fast-track court.
Kumar stated that Gade was apprehended in Gunat with the assistance of approximately 500 local residents. "The villager who provided the final critical information regarding the suspect will receive a reward of Rs 1 lakh. I will travel to Gunat to honor all those who aided us during the search operation," he remarked.
The Pune police commissioner indicated that upon learning of the crime that occurred early Tuesday, an examination of footage from 23 closed-circuit television cameras within the bus depot, along with 48 CCTV cameras at various other sites, helped to identify the suspect. The police reported that Gade returned home following the commission of the crime.
