Russian President Vladimir Putin’s $3,55,796 Aurus limousine was engulfed in flames near Moscow’s FSB secret service headquarters in Lubyanka on Saturday, 29 March.

In multiple videos being shared online, local staff from nearby restaurants and bars were seen rushing to the scene to try and extinguish the fire before firefighters arrived.

Thick black smoke could be seen emerging from the car, in the videos being shared by witnesses. The fire started from the car's engine bay area and spread to its interiors. It was confirmed that the individuals in the car managed to escape in time and were unharmed.

Many observers are now wondering whether the incident was a targeted attack or simply an unfortunate accident. However, security experts have raised concerns about the vulnerability of high-profile vehicles even in the heart of Moscow.
