PM Narendra Modi’s massive rally in Gayaji, Bihar, turned into a political talking point after two RJD MLAs, Vibha Devi and Prakash Veer, appeared on stage. Even as the Prime Minister accused the RJD of corruption, the two lawmakers were seen seated behind him.
The BJP quickly downplayed the development. Party MP Vivek Thakur said that all MLAs, MPs, and MLCs were invited as multiple projects were inaugurated. “Some opposition leaders skipped the event deliberately, but those present had their reasons,” he said.
PM Modi launched projects worth over Rs 13,000 crore, flagged off two new trains, and inaugurated the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital in Muzaffarpur along with a Namami Gange project in Munger. Symbolic keys were also handed over to 12,000 rural housing beneficiaries.
Addressing the rally, PM Modi lashed out at the RJD and Congress for opposing new bills seeking automatic removal of ministers jailed for 30 days. “If a peon loses his job after 50 hours in jail, why should ministers continue in power?” he asked, claiming the RJD’s record was marred by corruption.
