External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has sent a stern and unequivocal warning to Pakistan, reaffirming India’s unwavering resolve to combat terrorism in all its forms. Speaking during his recent visit to Brussels, Jaishankar made it clear that India will not hesitate to take decisive action, regardless of where terrorists are located.
“We don’t care where they are. If they are deep inside Pakistan, then we will go deep inside Pakistan,” Jaishankar declared, underscoring India’s readiness to pursue terrorists even across international borders if necessary. This strong statement comes amid ongoing concerns about cross-border terrorism and the persistent threat posed by extremist elements operating from Pakistani soil.
He did not mince words when describing Pakistan’s role in the region, stating, “Pakistan is a country deeply invested in using terrorism as an instrument of state policy. That is the entire issue.” His remarks reflect longstanding Indian concerns about Pakistan’s alleged support for terrorist groups targeting India, an issue that has been a major source of tension between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.
When asked whether the conditions that once brought India and Pakistan to the brink of war still exist, Jaishankar responded candidly: “If you call our commitment to fighting terrorism a source of tension, then yes — that still exists.” His comment highlights that India’s proactive stance against terrorism remains unchanged and will continue to define its regional security policy.
Jaishankar’s forthright warning serves as a clear message to Pakistan and the international community: India is prepared to take all necessary measures to protect its citizens and interests. As the geopolitical landscape evolves, India’s commitment to eradicating terrorism remains a cornerstone of its foreign policy, signaling zero tolerance for any threats emanating from across its borders.
