The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Dharmasthala multiple murders, rapes, and burials case has recovered crucial evidence while escorting the complainant to Bengaluru, officials confirmed on Sunday.

C N Chinnaiah, who is currently in custody, was brought from Belthangady in Dakshina Kannada district on Saturday. As part of the investigation, the SIT conducted mahazar proceedings (spot inspections) at multiple locations linked to the case across Bengaluru.

During the operation, investigators seized several documents, digital records, and other materials expected to help corroborate witness statements and establish timelines. The SIT also examined bank transactions, property documents, and communication records connected to the accused.

Police sources said Chinnaiah cooperated with the investigation, identifying specific locations where certain meetings and exchanges occurred. These details are being cross-verified with existing forensic and technical evidence held by the SIT.

The recovered materials are likely to strengthen the ongoing investigation and assist authorities in piecing together the sequence of events in the high-profile case.
