SpaceX Starship Test Flight Ends in Disaster: Spacecraft Disintegrates After Launch
Published on

The launch of Starship on Thursday, intended for a test flight to deploy mock satellites into orbit, occurred nearly two months following a previous attempt that resulted in an explosion. During the recent launch, SpaceX, led by Elon Musk, lost control of the Starship just minutes after takeoff, as indicated by the company's live stream.

Shortly thereafter, various social media platforms showcased videos of the spacecraft disintegrating into fireball-like debris, visible in the twilight skies over southern Florida and the Bahamas. In response to the situation, the Federal Aviation Administration implemented ground stops at Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach, and Orlando airports due to "space launch debris," which remained in effect until at least 8 PM ET, as reported by Reuters.

The disintegration of the Starship in space transpired following the live broadcast of the mission by SpaceX, which depicted the vehicle spinning uncontrollably. During the ascent burn of the Starship, it underwent a rapid, unplanned disassembly, resulting in a loss of communication. The team promptly initiated coordination with safety officials to execute the pre-established contingency measures.
