Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of his scheduled visit to Bihar, accusing him of failing to deliver on key promises and promoting divisive politics. Yadav claimed Modi should be “ashamed” to set foot in Bihar, alleging that despite making “hundreds of promises” across more than 200 speeches, the Prime Minister has failed to address critical issues such as unemployment, inflation, and poverty.
“Instead of working for Bihar’s real needs, the Prime Minister is coming here to spread communal hatred and deepen social divides,” Yadav said, framing the visit as politically motivated rather than developmental.
Turning his fire on the BJP and its allies, Yadav also accused the ruling NDA of practicing the very dynastic politics it often condemns. In a sarcastic jibe, he labelled the alliance the ‘National Daamaad Aayog’ (National Sons-in-law Commission), pointing to the appointment of relatives of NDA leaders to various government commissions in Bihar. “They keep blaming us for family-based politics, but half their ministers are political heirs,” he remarked, calling out what he sees as the hypocrisy of the BJP’s anti-dynasty stance.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha called on the public to turn out in large numbers for Modi’s rally in Siwan, emphasizing the Prime Minister’s commitment to development and his stand against nepotism. During his visit, Modi is expected to inaugurate infrastructure projects worth ₹10,000 crore, as well as flag off new train services. The visit is widely seen as a bid to shore up support ahead of the upcoming state elections.
The war of words underscores the intensifying political battle in Bihar, as both camps seek to set the narrative on governance, development, and political legacy in the lead-up to the polls.
