Unfortunately, her troubles continued when she was assaulted by another individual in the hotel elevator while seeking assistance. Authorities have confirmed that both suspects have been apprehended.
The event took place in the Mahipalpur area of south-west Delhi. According to police reports, the victim had connected with the first suspect online and they began to communicate frequently, leading her to travel to India to meet him face-to-face.Upon her arrival in India, she reserved a hotel room in Mahipalpur, conveniently located near Indira Gandhi International Airport. On Tuesday, the man visited her at the hotel, but their meeting escalated into a confrontation when the woman became uncomfortable with his inappropriate behavior.
The victim reported that she was raped by the accused. The British woman stated that she raised an alarm and was able to reach the hotel reception. However, another man, pretending to assist her, allegedly assaulted her in the hotel elevator. Both suspects have been taken into custody on charges of rape and molestation. The police have also notified the British High Commission about the situation, and an investigation is currently underway.
According to a statement from the Delhi Police, "A man has been arrested for raping a British woman at a hotel in Mahipalpur, Delhi. His accomplice was also arrested for molestation. The woman, who had met the man through social media, traveled from the UK to Delhi to see him".
