Union Minister Amit Shah Dedicates Veer Savarkar Sports Complex to Nation

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah inaugurated the ₹825 crore Veer Savarkar Sports Complex at Naranpura, Ahmedabad, and dedicated it to the nation. The event was attended by Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, Union Sports Minister Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of State for Sports Shri Harsh Sanghavi, and Mayor Smt Pratibha Jain.

Shri Amit Shah described sports as the soul of India and emphasized that, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the sector has undergone major reforms, including world-class infrastructure, transparent selections, and international opportunities for top athletes. The complex, already hosting major competitions, features an Aquatics Stadium, Indoor Multi-Sports Arena, Outdoor Courts, Community Sports Center, and a Fit India Zone.

Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel highlighted the Sports Governance Bill 2025 and the National Anti-Doping Amendment Bill 2025 as key measures to protect athletes. Union Sports Minister Shri Mansukh Mandaviya praised the complex as a platform to realize India’s sporting dreams and Olympic aspirations.

The Veer Savarkar Sports Complex positions Ahmedabad as a future sports capital of India, with facilities supporting both elite athletes and community sports initiatives.
