A tragic incident unfolded at the Simhachalam temple in Andhra Pradesh early Wednesday, where a cement wall collapsed on a group of devotees, killing at least eight people and injuring several others.

The collapse occurred while devotees were standing in a queue near a shopping complex on the Ghat Road, close to the Simhagiri Bus Stand, waiting to purchase ₹300 darshan tickets. The structure suddenly gave way, trapping those nearby under the debris.

Rescue teams rushed to the spot and continue to search for survivors, with several of the injured shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment. Authorities have launched an inquiry into the incident to determine the cause of the collapse and assess whether negligence was involved.
