4-laning works launched at Ravanfond

MARGAO: Minister For Fisheries & Labour Avertano Furtado on Thursday launched the works of 4-laning of the road from 3MTR Ravanfond to Dicarpale. 

The construction and widening of the 3.2 kms stretch of road from 3MTR Rawanfond to Dicarpale is being taken up at an estimated cost of Rs. 2.76 crore.

The land for four-laning was acquired some 15 years ago and all the encroachments were cleared in May 2006. However, lack of political will to complete the work hampered the widening of the road. Several fatal accidents have taken place on this road due to the bottle necks and heavy traffic. Trucks going to the Nessai Industrial estate and stone-crushers in Paddem are frequent pliers.
