
MARGAO: Clarifying on the confusions pertaining to the age limit for the jobs at South Goa District Collectorate office, authority has now clarified that the candidates should not be above 45 in general category at the time when the notification, announcing the jobs was published by the government.
The last date of notification that was February 11, 2019, will be the cut-off date and the candidates should be within the age limit on that day. All those candidates who have crossed the age limit after the notification date need not be worried and can answer the written exams for the post they applied for.
A day before OHeraldo had highlighted the issue pertaining to the age factor that will beholding the key for hundreds seeking jobs in South Goa Collectorate, as many had crossed the age limit and were in confusion whether to answer the exams or not. The recruitment process was delayed for almost four years. There was a demand that age relaxation be given to the thousands of job-seekers who crossed the age limit.
On Monday, the issue was discussed by the top level officials and has now come up with the clarification, appealing to the job seekers not to worry with regard to the age limits.
As per the notification, the age limit for the candidates in general category was 45, and 48 for OBC, whereas 50 age limit was for the candidates belonging to SC and ST category.
All those candidates, who have crossed the age limit but were within the age limit at the time of the last date of notification; February 11, 2019 will be eligible for the posts, said a concerned nodal officer.
He further informed that till Monday, the authority had reached out to 14,000 pluscandidates intimidating them about the exams starting from September 29 and many arecontinuing to visit the office with their queries.
Appealing to the candidates, the nodal officer also said that while checking for the admit cardon the website, job seekers should not get confused with their name on the list ofeligible candidates. Just typing first name or surname, instead of full name on the website will help the candidate with the details.
