PANJIM: In an interesting development, Health Secretary Nila Mohanan has been transferred to Delhi as Deputy Director Personnel & Training, New Delhi. The order has been issued by the Department Personnel & Training, Government of India, New Delhi.

The order has come as a surprise to almost everybody since Mohanan, as Health Secretary of the State, was leading the fight against COVID-19 pandemic. While sources revealed that Mohanan had asked for the transfer, many say it was on the cards as she had blocked many files viz-a-viz the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mohanan has also served as Collector North Goa and Director IT in Goa.

Mohanan, who was recommended for Central deputation by the Minister of Home Affairs, has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the D/o Personnel & Training, New Delhi under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of four years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders.
