Guv distributes aid to 272 cancer and dialysis patients

PANJIM: Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai distributed financial assistance to 272 cancer and dialysis patients from Governor’s Discretionary Funds at Raj Bhavan at Dona Paula on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said, "The people of India are supreme. It is the duty of the elected representatives and the service providers to serve the people."

The Governor said after the successful completion of Saimik Daiz Yatra he will be visiting the forest areas of the state to see and study the life of people living in such areas.

He said grievances of the people living in forest areas will be addressed.

While praying for speedy recovery of cancer patients, the Governor said cancer is now a curable disease and patients need not worry.

He informed all the applications received for financial assistance have been cleared by Raj Bhavan.

The distribution of financial assistance to needy cancer, dialysis and other patients is historical and an epoch-making achievement in the history of Raj Bhavan, Pillai said.
