RAIA: Promising power lifter Kayden Fernandes of Goa won the gold medal at the West India Power Lifting Championships 2024, organised by Power Lifting Association of Rajasthan, at Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, recently.
The youngster lifted 200 kg in squat, 115 kg in bench press and 212.5 kg in dead lift for a powerful total lift of 527.5 kgs.
This is the second time the 18-year-old, Benaulim lad, had won the first prize for the power lifting championship. He is trained by Mukesh Girap and was accompanied by Prasad Naik of the Goa Super Bodies Power Lifting Association.
