Notorious criminal ‘Jeetu’ finally arrested in attempt to murder case

PANJIM: In a major development, the Goa Police arrested Jitendra Allali, also known as Jeetu, a suspect in an attempted murder case reported at the Canacona Police Station on August 16, 2024, after an extensive manhunt lasting several days. The suspect was taken into custody from Naibag, Pernem, on Wednesday.

The Canacona Police had registered a case of attempted murder under Section 109 (1) of the BNS 2023 on August 16, against Jeetu, a known criminal with a history of two previous IPC cases and several other criminal charges.

The incident occurred at a restaurant in Agonda, Canacona, during the late hours of August 16. A confrontation took place between the complainant, his friends, and the accused, who was inebriated. The accused used a sword-like weapon in an attempt to kill the victims before fleeing the scene and evading capture by hiding at various locations across the State, the police said.

In the attack, 25-year-old Kunal Pagi and 30-year-old Badal were injured and were admitted to the hospital, but have since been discharged and are out of danger.

Meanwhile, the accused has been remanded in two days police custody for further investigation.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by PSI Ajit Velip under the guidance of Canacona PI Harish Raut Desai and overall guidance of SDPO Tikam Singh Verma, IPS.
