PANJIM: Padre Conceicao College of Engineering (PCCE), Verna and Agnel Institute of Technology and Design (AITD), Assagao have signed Memorandums of Understandings (MoUs) with Garuda Aerospace, Chennai, India’s leading drone technology company.

According to a press release, the MoUs outline several key initiatives, including setting up two Centres of Excellence (CoE) at the PCCE and AITD campuses located in South Goa and North Goa respectively. The CoEs will be equipped with State-of-the-art drones, simulation tools, maintenance equipment and training modules. The MoU will foster a strategic collaboration for curriculum development, training programmes, workshops, hackathons, research, internship and placement.

Garuda Aerospace is a trailblazer for its innovation and excellence in developing advanced aerial systems. It is approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Their products include agricultural drones for crop monitoring and spraying, surveillance drones for security and defence, and industrial drones for infrastructure inspections. The company is known for its commitment to integrating the latest technologies, such as AI and machine learning, into their drones to enhance their functionality and efficiency, the release further states.

CEO of Garuda Aerospace Agnishwar Jayaprakash expressed his commitment to the project, stating: “Garuda Aerospace is on the path to becoming India’s first-ever drone unicorn startup. We look forward to manufacturing more state-of-the-art ‘Make-in-India drones’, and positioning India as the global drone hub by 2030.”

Rev Fr Agnelo Gomes, Director of the Agnel Technical Institutions, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “This MoU represents a significant milestone in educational excellence, and will provide our students with invaluable exposure to the latest developments in Drone technology.”
