PANJIM: Bardez Block Development Officer (BDO) Shivprasad Naik has issued a notice to the Assagao Village Panchayat asking them to furnish all documents within 7 days in the alleged illegal bar and restaurant allegedly run by the family of Union Minister Smriti Irani.

The directions have been issued after the Director of Panchayats Siddhi Harlankar through her office on July 27 issued a Memorandum to the Bardez BDO to take necessary action on the complaint filed by Adv Aires Rodrigues against the alleged illegal restaurant.

Reiterating that the people of Goa are entitled to know the whole truth about the disputed restaurant, Adv Rodrigues has appealed to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and his Council of Ministers not to exert political pressure and to enable the concerned Excise, Village Panchayat and Town and Country Planning (TCP) officials to conduct a free and fair inquiry on the entire issue to unravel the whole truth in this case.

Adv Rodrigues has also demanded that Smriti Irani should agree to a public debate on facts and figures so that the people of Goa, across the nation and overseas know the whole truth about the bar and restaurant alleged owned by her family at Assagao.
